this sweet little guy came to the studio this week. at first it was for a Just For Kids Mini-Session but mom upgraded to a regular session so as to get some images of ‘W’ along with Mom & Dad and W’s Grandma! ‘W’ loved exploring the studio and gave me quite the workout .. but luckily i was fast enough to catch this image with those big blue eyes.

and when all else fails containment, containment, containment .. not sure ‘W’ agreed

and here he is with grandma .. showing off those little teeth!

thanks again mom & dad & grandma for coming down to the studio .. it was a pleasure working with you and i’ll let you know when the rest of your gallery is ready.

I took my oldest daughter to the Walker Art Center for her belated 13 year portraits .. I have heard great things about the lighting in the building and she loves art of any sort .. so it was a win-win! And the bonus for me .. spending time alone with my newest teenager .. and capturing how I see her … as an artist …


as a beautiful young woman …


and as a part of my heart that walks around outside of my body .. i love you miss E!

this session took place on what was probably the last warm day of the year. hard to believe that it was almost 60 degrees just this past saturday .. but i wasn’t complaining .. and neither were these kids! it made for a fun day in the woods .. especially when you’re playing red light/green light!

remember that maternity session i was going to have .. but instead ended up taking riley to the studio? well .. it ended up being a false alarm and a week later we were able to get some images done … and i’m finally able to get them blogged!
